Inside the apartment
The heart of the flat is one big open-plan room, with the living area, a generous dining table and the kitchen together, so the whole group can catch up while someone cooks. Guests describe it as roomy, modern and well equipped, with quality furnishings and a comfortable, homely feel. Sink into the sofas with a film on the 50-inch smart TV, gather round the table for dinner, or plan the next day out over a coffee from the pod machine.
Bedrooms
Bedroom 1: a king-size bed, with its own en suite shower room.
Bedroom 2: a double bed.
Living room: a sofa bed that sleeps two more when you need it.
Beds are made up with crisp hotel-standard cotton linen before you arrive, with extra pillows and blankets, room-darkening blinds for a proper lie-in, and portable fans for warm summer nights.
Bathrooms
Two bathrooms make all the difference with six people. The king room's en suite has a rain shower, and the main bathroom has a large bath for a long soak after a day on your feet. Fresh towels for everyone, a hairdryer and starter toiletries are provided.
Kitchen
The kitchen is set up for real meals, not just a kettle and a microwave: an oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, a toaster, a kettle and a pod coffee machine, with pots, pans, a baking tray, crockery, cutlery and wine glasses. Guests have mentioned the coffee pods and the cupboard basics that are there when you arrive, and two supermarkets are just round the corner for everything else.
Working and longer stays
There's a proper desk and Wi-Fi if you need to work, an iron and ironing board, and a washing machine and tumble dryer in the flat's utility room, so a stay of several weeks feels like home rather than a hotel. Stays of a week or more are priced lower per night, and you can book up to 89 nights online. For longer stays or company bookings, email us before you book and we'll see what we can do for you.
Easy access
The apartment is step-free from the street, the building has a lift, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the same level as the front door. One family praised the disabled access, with a working lift and wide doors.
Collecting the keys
Keys and the building fob are kept at a KeyNest point inside Victory Newsagents on Southampton's High Street, about 13 minutes' walk away, rather than in a box on the door, so they're held safely in a staffed shop. The shop opens at 9:30 am, so you can collect on your way in, drop your bags at the flat, and hand everything back there when you leave. We send the full directions and your collection code before you arrive.
Where you are in Southampton
Royal Crescent Road is on the edge of Ocean Village, Southampton's marina quarter. Its waterfront restaurants, bars and cafés are about three minutes' walk, the Harbour Lights cinema about five, and there's a bus stop right outside. The Ocean Cruise Terminal is about 11 minutes on foot and Town Quay, for the Red Funnel ferries to the Isle of Wight, about 12. St Mary's Stadium and the medieval Bargate are each around 16 minutes' walk, WestQuay shopping centre about 19, the Mayflower Theatre about 28, and the bars and restaurants of Bedford Place about half an hour. Guests also mention Oxford Street's restaurants as an easy stroll.
Getting here and parking
Southampton Central station is about 30 minutes' walk, or a short bus or taxi ride, and the M27 and M271 are close by for driving in. There's no parking space with this apartment. There's pay parking on the street outside (pay at the machine or on the PayByPhone app), and the nearest pay car park is about 0.6 miles away. Check the signs for the charging hours when you park, and allow for busier streets on match days at St Mary's.
Arriving
You have the whole apartment to yourselves. Check-in is self check-in from 4 pm to 9 pm, once you've collected the keys and fob from the KeyNest point, and check-out is by 10 am. Our local team is on hand by message every day from 8 am to 8 pm, and there's an emergency number for anything urgent.
Worth knowing
St Mary's Stadium is close by, so nearby streets and car parks are busier on match days, and the pay parking outside fills up faster then.
