Oxford Terrace

Oxford Terrace is a two-bedroom apartment in Southampton city centre, on Oxford Street, the city's street of restaurants and bars. It sleeps six, has big windows looking out over the city, and puts Town Quay seven minutes' walk away and the Bargate and Ocean Village about ten, with dogs welcome. Inside the apartment

Guests describe Oxford Terrace as bright, spacious and airy. The open-plan living and dining room has a comfortable sofa, a 50-inch smart TV and a dining table that doubles as a second desk. The modern kitchen, with its Siemens induction hob and LG fridge, has an oven, microwave, dishwasher and a coffee machine with pods, plus all the cookware and crockery you need, and its large windows look out over the city. A washing machine, tumble dryer and iron in the flat make longer stays easy.

Bedrooms and bathroom

Bedroom 1: a king-size bed and a desk for working.

Bedroom 2: a double bed.

Living room: the sofa opens into a bed for two more.

Both bedrooms are good-sized, and the bedding gets special praise from guests: crisp white linen and plenty of towels. The bathroom has a large bath for a long soak after a day on your feet.

Worth knowing

Oxford Street is lively, with bars and restaurants along it, so you may hear some noise in the evenings. That's the trade-off for having dinner and a drink a few doors away. There's no parking at the flat itself.

Where you are in Southampton

Walking times from the door: Town Quay, for the Isle of Wight ferry, about 7 minutes, the Bargate and Ocean Village about 10, the Ocean Cruise Terminal 11 and WestQuay 13. St Mary's Stadium is around 16 minutes on foot, the City Cruise Terminal 17, the Mayflower Theatre 22, and Southampton Central station about 24, or a few minutes by bus or taxi, with buses stopping right outside. By car, Southampton Common and Portswood are about 7 minutes away, the University's Highfield campus 10, Southampton Airport Parkway 12 and Southampton General Hospital 13, and the New Forest at Lyndhurst about 22.

Parking, arrival and departure

There's no parking at the apartment. Parking on Oxford Street is free from 8 pm to 8 am and paid during the day, by the machine or the PayByPhone app, and College Street car park is just around the corner. Check-in is self check-in with a lockbox, any time between 4 pm and 9 pm, and check-out is by 10 am. We send directions and your code before you arrive, and our local team is on hand by message every day from 8 am to 8 pm.

• Is there parking? Not at the flat, but Oxford Street is free to park on overnight and College Street car park is around the corner.
• Can we bring our dog? Yes, up to two dogs are welcome; a pet fee is added when you book.
• Is it good for working? Yes: there's a desk in the main bedroom, the dining table and fast Wi-Fi.
• Can we stay longer? Stays of up to 89 nights can be booked online; for 90 nights or more, or for a company booking, please get in touch first.
• Can we arrive after 9 pm? No. Check-in closes at 9 pm, so please plan to arrive between 4 pm and 9 pm.
• Is there a cot or high chair? No, so please bring a travel cot if you need one.
• Is it all on one level? No: there are steps up to the front door and stairs inside, with no stair gates.
