Guildford, Surrey

Kingpost Parade

Sleeps 8 · 3 bedrooms · 4 bathrooms

About this home

Kingpost Parade is a brand-new serviced apartment in Guildford: three king bedrooms that all have their own en suite, plus a fourth bathroom, sleeping up to eight in Burpham on the north-east side of town. Three cars park free, every room has a Smart TV, dogs are welcome, and Guildford High Street is about seven minutes' drive. It's equally good as contractor accommodation in Guildford or a family base, and you can book it direct with us right here.

The apartment at a glance

  • Smart TVs throughout, even in the kitchen
  • Underfloor heating, controlled room by room

Inside the apartment

Kingpost Parade has had a complete refurbishment, and nothing here is second-hand: wood-effect floors, made-to-measure wardrobes, designer lighting and hotel-style bathrooms. Guests describe it as spotless and brand new, with loads of storage, which makes a real difference on a longer stay. In the living room there's a generous corner sofa plus another sofa facing the TV, and the underfloor heating keeps every room comfortable whatever the weather.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Bedroom 1: a king-size bed and its own en suite.

Bedroom 2: a king-size bed and its own en suite.

Bedroom 3, the top-floor suite: the whole floor is yours, with a king-size bed, a reading armchair, a little table to eat at, your own kitchenette (sink, microwave, washer-dryer) and an en suite with a bath. Close the glass hatch at the top of the stairs and it's a private flat within the flat.

Living room: a sofa that unfolds into a double, sleeping guests seven and eight; just ask when you book.

A fourth bathroom means four bathrooms for up to eight people. Families with teenagers tell us the top-floor suite was the favourite: one family's sons loved having a whole floor to themselves. Beds are dressed in hotel-quality linen before you get here, with towels, toiletries and the makings of a cuppa ready for you.

The kitchen

The kitchen is the showpiece. Its quartz marble island holds the induction hob and seats six for breakfast, with double ovens, a dishwasher and a big American-style fridge freezer that dispenses ice and chilled water, plus a Smart TV so the cook doesn't miss the match. Cupboards come stocked with the useful extras guests tend to forget, from foil and cling film to kitchen roll.

Work and longer stays

Three separate en suite bedrooms give every colleague or family member their own space, and with laundry on two floors, plenty of storage, fast Wi-Fi and free parking for three vehicles right outside, it's built for weekly stays. Contractor teams, people relocating and families between homes all use it; one family spent two comfortable weeks here between house moves. Surrey Research Park, the university and the Royal Surrey are all within about 11 minutes by car, and longer stays are discounted.

Where you are in Guildford

Burpham is a friendly suburb just off the A3. The parade below the apartment has places to eat, including the Rajdoot Indian restaurant next door, a café and a COOK frozen-meals shop, and supermarkets are a short drive away. Driving times: G Live and London Road station about 5 minutes; Guildford High Street, Guildford Castle and the main Guildford station (quick trains into London Waterloo) about 7; Newlands Corner in the Surrey Hills about 8; the University of Surrey, the Royal Surrey County Hospital and Guildford Cathedral about 9; Surrey Research Park about 11; and RHS Garden Wisley about 15. Buses into town run along London Road.

Parking, arrival and departure

Parking costs nothing. Give us the make, colour and registration of up to three cars and we'll put them on the permit for the parade's car park, directly outside, for your whole stay. We also have three spaces of our own there, first come, first served. Check-in is self check-in by keypad, any time between 4 pm and 9 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. Directions and your door code reach you before you travel, and our local team is on hand by message every day from 8 am to 8 pm.

Worth knowing

Kingpost Parade is upstairs, over a short row of shops on London Road: an outside staircase leads up, and further stairs inside lead to the suite, so it won't suit anyone who can't manage steps; guests say the stairs are sturdy and secure. London Road is busy, so expect some traffic noise and now and then an early-morning bin lorry.
