Elm Lodge

Elm Lodge is a large holiday house in Bognor Regis and handy Goodwood accommodation: a six-bedroom home on a quiet residential road that sleeps up to fourteen, with three and a half bathrooms, a big wrap-around garden and off-road parking. The pier and seafront are about twelve minutes' walk, Goodwood Motor Circuit around fifteen minutes' drive, dogs are welcome, and you can book it direct with us right here.

A house for the whole family

Elm Lodge is a big blue house that's made for getting everyone together: three generations for a seaside weekend, a gang of friends for the Festival of Speed, or a work crew on a coastal contract. Guests say it's thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished, with swish bathrooms and kitchen, and that the bedrooms are far roomier than the photos let on. One grandmother wrote that her grandchildren, aged one, two and three, loved every minute of it.

With six double-sized bedrooms, the house suits couples and families sharing best. Three full bathrooms and a separate toilet keep the morning rush moving, even with a full house. Every bed is made up with crisp, high-thread-count white linen before you arrive, with towels and toiletries for everyone.

Kitchen and living room

The kitchen is built around a central island, with modern appliances, a dishwasher, an oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, kettle, toaster and a coffee maker, and enough pans and crockery for a proper group meal. The living room gives everyone space to spread out on the sofas in front of a large TV after a day on the beach.

Working from Elm Lodge

Unusually for a holiday house, Elm Lodge has a dedicated home office with fast Wi-Fi, so someone can take a call or finish a report while everyone else heads out. With a washing machine, tumble dryer and iron, off-road parking and six separate bedrooms, it works well for teams on longer jobs along the West Sussex coast, and longer stays are discounted.

The garden

The private garden wraps around the house and is big enough for children to run, play and burn off energy, and for dogs to have a good sniff around. Dogs are welcome at Elm Lodge; one group of nine brought two and found plenty of space for everyone.

Where you are in Bognor Regis

Sylvan Way is a peaceful residential road on the west side of Bognor Regis. Walking times: the pier and the seafront promenade about 12 minutes; Bognor Regis station, with trains along the coast and up to London, about 12; Hotham Park about 20; and Butlin's about 27.

By car, Fontwell Park racecourse is about 13 minutes away; Goodwood Motor Circuit, home of the Revival, and Chichester Cathedral about 15; Chichester Festival Theatre about 17; Pagham Harbour nature reserve about 20; West Wittering beach and Arundel Castle about 22; and Goodwood House, for the Festival of Speed, about 24. Allow extra time on big Goodwood event days, when the local roads get busy.

Parking, arrival and departure

Your parking is at the back of the house, by the garage, reached from Nyewood Lane: a dedicated space that takes two vehicles comfortably, or three smaller cars. There's also unrestricted free parking on Sylvan Way. Check-in is self check-in with a lockbox by the front door, any time between 4 pm and 9 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. We send directions before you arrive, and our local team is on hand by message every day from 8 am to 8 pm.

• Is there a cot or high chair? Not at the moment, so please bring a travel cot if you need one.
• Is there a bedroom on the ground floor? Yes, one. The other five bedrooms are upstairs.
• What are the bathrooms like? There are three, plus a separate toilet: a family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath, an en suite shower room for bedroom 2, and a top-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath.
