Marina Bliss

Marina Bliss is a one-bedroom, ground-floor self-catering apartment by Ocean Village in Southampton, a few minutes' walk from the marina and about eleven from the Ocean Cruise Terminal. It sleeps up to four, with a double bedroom and a sofa bed, it's step-free, and the bathroom has a large bath with its own TV. Inside the apartment

Marina Bliss is cosy, modern and kept spotless. The living area has a comfortable sofa, a big 55-inch smart TV for film nights, and a dining table for meals in or a laptop session. Guests often tell us it has everything they needed, and that the heating is quick and easy to use, which you'll appreciate on a winter's evening after a walk round the marina.

The bedroom

The bedroom has a double bed made up with crisp hotel-standard cotton linen, with extra pillows and blankets, and room-darkening blinds for a lie-in. In the living room, the sofa opens into a bed for two more, which is best for children or an occasional extra guest.

The bathroom

The bathroom's big feature is the bath: long enough for a proper soak, with a TV you can watch while you're in it. Fresh towels, a hairdryer and starter toiletries are provided.

Kitchen

Cook for yourselves with an oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge and freezer, a dishwasher, a toaster, a kettle and a pod coffee machine, plus pots, pans, a baking tray, crockery and wine glasses. Tesco Express is about a minute's walk, and Ocean Village's restaurants are there when you'd rather not cook.

Working and longer stays

Wi-Fi, a table to work at, an iron, and a washing machine and tumble dryer in the flat make Marina Bliss easy to live in for a few weeks. Easy access

Being on the ground floor, the apartment is step-free from the street, with the bedroom and bathroom on the same level as the front door, which makes arriving with luggage, a pushchair or limited mobility simple.

Collecting the keys

Keys and the building fob are kept at a KeyNest point inside Victory Newsagents on Southampton's High Street, about 13 minutes' walk away, rather than in a box at the door, so they're held safely in a staffed shop. The shop opens at 9:30 am, so you can collect on your way in and drop everything back there when you leave. We send your collection code and directions before you arrive.

Where you are in Southampton

Royal Crescent Road is a quiet street on the edge of Ocean Village. Tesco Express is about a minute away, and the marina, its restaurants, bars and the Harbour Lights cinema about five. The Ocean Cruise Terminal is around 11 minutes on foot, and Town Quay, for the Isle of Wight ferries, about 12. St Mary's Stadium and the Bargate are each about 16 minutes' walk, and WestQuay is 15 to 20 minutes away through the park, a walk one guest described as beautiful. The Mayflower Theatre is about 28 minutes on foot and the City Cruise Terminal about 24.

Getting here and parking

Southampton Central station is about 30 minutes' walk, or a short bus ride from outside, and the M27 and M271 are close by. There's no parking with this apartment. There's pay parking on the street outside (pay at the machine or on the PayByPhone app), and the nearest pay car park is about 0.6 miles away. Check the signs when you park, especially on match days.

Arriving

The whole apartment is yours. Check-in is self check-in from 4 pm to 9 pm, once you've collected the keys and fob from the KeyNest point, and check-out is by 10 am. Our local team is on hand by message every day from 8 am to 8 pm, and there's an emergency number for anything urgent.

Worth knowing

It's a ground-floor flat, so you may want the blinds down in the evening. It's a one-bedroom apartment, so storage is limited if you're travelling with several large suitcases. St Mary's Stadium is close by, so match nights are busier around the area.
